The most important lesson from Jesus is THE KINGDOM OF GOD, and evangelicals never thought much about this, allowing the modernists a foothold to dominate and corrupt the cultural mandate of God. And later, in old Christendom, archangels were viewed so high that they became as if the object of worship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We are the children of God, angels are the servants of God.<\/strong> Big difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\uff03\u5728\u4e0a\u5e1d\u5bb6\u88e1\uff0c\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u662f\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4f4d\u5206\u2753\u5929\u4f7f\u662f\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4f4d\u5206\u2753\uff08\u5e0c\u4f2f\u4f86\u66f8\u8981\u7406\u554f\u7b54 \u7b2c330\u554f\uff09\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OHylUlfr0eA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7\/6\/2024<\/strong> Today, a Saturday, I have sometime to myself to look into one of the First Great Awakening folks: <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Theodorus_Jacobus_Frelinghuysen\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Theodorus_Jacobus_Frelinghuysen\"><strong>Theodorus Jacobus Frelinghuysen<\/strong><\/a>, whom I learned from last Sunday School from Bill, that he was with George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards in New Jersey, especially Somerset. Wikipedia shows that he also worked with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gilbert_Tennent\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gilbert_Tennent\">Gilbert Tennent<\/a>, the one who preached \"<em>On the Danger of an Unconverted Ministry<\/em>\" = Nottingham Sermon. Frelinghuysen's pietism is apparently in fencing the table (preventing people from the Lord's supper until they get their acts together). I'm not saying that fencing the table is wrong, especially when compared to how the Tabernacle was set up with sections forbidden to commoners, but it was how these revivalists policed the table. Stephen Tong on <strong>Pietism<\/strong>, which Frelinghuysen was really into:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/wangxinllib.wordpress.com\/2007\/03\/21\/%E6%95%AC%E8%99%94%E4%B8%BB%E4%B9%89-%E8%8A%82%E9%80%89%E8%87%AA%E3%80%8A%E5%94%90%E5%B4%87%E8%8D%A3%E6%BC%AB%E8%B0%88%E5%BD%92%E6%AD%A3%E8%BF%90%E5%8A%A8%E3%80%8B\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/wangxinllib.wordpress.com\/2007\/03\/21\/%E6%95%AC%E8%99%94%E4%B8%BB%E4%B9%89-%E8%8A%82%E9%80%89%E8%87%AA%E3%80%8A%E5%94%90%E5%B4%87%E8%8D%A3%E6%BC%AB%E8%B0%88%E5%BD%92%E6%AD%A3%E8%BF%90%E5%8A%A8%E3%80%8B\/\">\u656c\u8654\u4e3b\u4e49\u2013\u8282\u9009\u81ea\u300a\u5510\u5d07\u8363\u6f2b\u8c08\u5f52\u6b63\u8fd0\u52a8\u300b<\/a><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>\u5230\u4e86\u5341\u516d\u4e16\u7eaa\uff0c\u6539\u6559\u8fd0\u52a8\u5b8c\u6210\u4ee5\u540e\uff0c\u5341\u4e03\u4e16\u7eaa\uff0c\u6709\u6ca1\u6709\u5371\u673a\u6765\u5440\uff1f\u6709\u3002\u7b2c\u4e00\u4e2a\u5927\u5371\u673a\u5c31\u662f\u8150\u8d25\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u3001\u6ca1\u6709\u5723\u6d01\u7684\u7075\u6027\uff0c\u4fb5\u72af\u6539\u6559\u8fd0\u52a8\u7684\u6559\u4f1a\u3002\u4fe1\u4ef0\u5bf9\u4e0d\u5bf9\uff1f\u5bf9\u3002\u884c\u4e3a\u5bf9\u4e0d\u5bf9\uff1f\u4e0d\u5927\u5bf9\u3002\u4e3a\u4ec0\u4e48\uff1f\u56e0\u4e3a\u5bf9\u4fe1\u4ef0\u7684\u91cd\u70b9\uff0c\u8ddf\u5168\u9762\u6027\uff0c\u6ca1\u6709\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u4e86\u89e3\u540c\u628a\u63e1\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u8bef\u89e3\u4fe1\u4ef0\uff0c\u4ea7\u751f\u504f\u5dee\uff0c\u7279\u522b\u662f\u8def\u5fb7\u5b97\u3002\u8def\u5fb7\u5b97\u6700\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u4e00\u53e5\u8bdd\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\u5462\uff1f\u300c\u56e0\u4fe1\u79f0\u4e49\u300d\uff0c\u8fd9\u662f\u9a6c\u4e01\u8def\u5fb7\u6700\u5927\u7684\u53d1\u73b0\u3002Justified through faith\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u662f\u501f\u7740\u4fe1\uff0c\u56e0\u4e3a\u8036\u7a23\u7684\u5b9d\u8840\u800c\u79f0\u4e49\u3002\u90a3\u4e48\uff0c\u4e00\u767e\u5e74\u4ee5\u540e\u5462\uff1f\u300c\u56e0\u4fe1\u79f0\u4e49\u300d\u5570\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u884c\u4e3a\u4e0d\u8981\u7d27\u5570\u3002\u65e2\u7136\u6211\u4fe1\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u7684\u884c\u4e3a\u4e71\u4e03\u516b\u7cdf\u4e0d\u8981\u7d27\uff0c\u6211\u300c\u56e0\u4fe1\u79f0\u4e49\u300d\u561b\u3002\u4e00\u767e\u5e74\u4ee5\u540e\uff0c\u5728\u8def\u5fb7\u5b97\u7684\u5730\u533a\uff0c\u5c31\u4ea7\u751f\u4e00\u4e2a\u53cd\u5bf9\u8fd9\u4e9b\u8d25\u574f\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\uff0c\u5374\u6301\u5b88\u6240\u8c13\u300c\u7eaf\u6b63\u4fe1\u4ef0\u300d\uff0c\u8fd9\u79cd\u504f\u9887\uff0c\u8fd9\u79cd\u4e0d\u5e73\u8861\u7684\u6559\u4f1a\u7684\u4f1a\u53cb\u7684\u8fd0\u52a8\uff0c\u53eb\u505aPietism (\u656c\u8654\u4e3b\u4e49)\u3002\u656c\u8654\u4e3b\u4e49\u5230\u5e95\u8981\u6559\u5bfc\u4ec0\u4e48\u5462\uff1f\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u4e0d\u5355\u662f\u56e0\u4fe1\u79f0\u4e49\uff0c\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u8981\u8fc7\u5723\u6d01\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\uff1b\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u4e0d\u5355\u4ece\u524d\u4fe1\u4e3b\u6094\u6539\u4e86\uff0c\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u8981\u5e38\u5e38\u6094\u6539\uff1b\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u4e0d\u5355\u53c2\u52a0\u805a\u4f1a\u8ddf\u4eba\u4e00\u540c\u7977\u544a\u505a\u793c\u62dc\uff0c\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u81ea\u5df1\u8981\u5728\u5bb6\u6709\u8bfb\u7ecf\u7977\u544a\u7684\u79c1\u4eba\u7075\u4fee\uff1b\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u4e0d\u5355\u81ea\u5df1\u9886\u53d7\u8d66\u7f6a\u4e4b\u6069\uff0c\u57fa\u7763\u5f92\u8981\u4e3a\u4e0a\u5e1d\u4f20\u798f\u97f3\u3002\u8fd9\u51e0\u4ef6\u90fd\u662f\u5f88\u597d\u7684\uff1a\u5723\u6d01\u751f\u6d3b\u3001\u4eb2\u81ea\u7075\u4ea4\u3001\u52aa\u529b\u4f20\u9053\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u8fd9\u5c31\u5bf9\u6539\u6559\u8fd0\u52a8\u7684\u6559\u4f1a\u5e26\u6765\u4e86\u590d\u5174\u7684\u7075\u6027\uff0c\u4e5f\u5c31\u662f\u5723\u6d01\u751f\u6d3b\u7684\u590d\u5174\uff0c\u4f20\u798f\u97f3\u706b\u70ed\u7684\u590d\u5174\u3002<strong>\u4f46\u662f\u656c\u8654\u8fd0\u52a8\u6709\u51e0\u4e2a\u5927\u7f3a\u70b9\uff1a\u6ce8\u91cd\u4e2a\u4eba\uff0c\u5ffd\u7565\u6559\u4f1a\u6574\u4f53\uff1b\u6ce8\u91cd\u611f\u53d7\u7684\u7ecf\u5386\uff0c\u5ffd\u7565\u4fe1\u4ef0\u7684\u7edf\u4e00\uff1b\u6ce8\u91cd\u5c0f\u7ec4\u7684\u6210\u7acb\uff0c\u5ffd\u7565\u6574\u4e2a\u6559\u4f1a\u5171\u540c\u7684\u76ca\u5904\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u5c31\u53d8\u6210\u5728\u6559\u4f1a\u4e2d\u5efa\u7acb\u5c0f\u6559\u4f1a\uff0c\u8fd9\u53eb\u505achurch within church\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u5bf9\u6559\u4e49\u4e5f\u4e0d\u5927\u6e05\u695a\u3001\u4e0d\u5927\u6ce8\u91cd\u3002\u5b83\u7684\u91cd\u70b9\u5c31\u662f\u4e2a\u4eba\u8981\u5723\u6d01\uff0c\u6700\u597d\u4e0d\u559d\u9152\u3001\u4e0d\u8d4c\u535a\u3001\u4e0d\u62bd\u70df\u3001\u4e0d\u8fd9\u4e2a\u3001\u4e0d\u90a3\u4e2a\uff0c\u6709\u5723\u6d01\u656c\u8654\u7684\u5916\u8c8c\uff0c\u4ed6\u4eec\u656c\u8654\u7684\u5b9e\u610f\u6709\u591a\u5c11\u4e0d\u5927\u77e5\u9053<\/strong>\u3002\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u8fd9\u4e2aPietism\u7b2c\u4e00\u6b21\u5728\u8def\u5fb7\u4f1a\u4e2d\u95f4\u523a\u6fc0\u6d77\u5916\u5ba3\u9053\u7684\u590d\u5174\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is an<a href=\"https:\/\/pietistschoolman.com\/2012\/06\/17\/tim-keller-on-reformed-pietism\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pietistschoolman.com\/2012\/06\/17\/tim-keller-on-reformed-pietism\/\"> interesting article on Tim Keller's<\/a> take on Reformed Pietism: <em>Evangelism, mission and church growth. The pietist impulse emphasizes on the individual and the experiential. That's bad reading:<br>Calvin on Dan 12:1<\/em><br><em>\"...By Michael many agree in understanding Christ as the head of the Church.&nbsp;But if it&nbsp;seems better to understand Michael as the archangel,&nbsp;this sense will prove suitable, for under Christ as the head, angels are the guardians of the Church...\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Therefore, Calvin is considering and accepting both views:<br>1. Michael = archangel and not Christ.<br>2. Michael = Christ and not archangel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The low IQ's response to this would be:<br>\"Ah, therefore Calvin's saying Christ = Archangel! because,<br>What can be, unburdened by what has been\"<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So if you still don't get it, it's ok. Peace.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>btw, anyone reading Calvin should already have the basic knowledge that Michael is derived from the Hebrew word: Like God and thus not necessarily must be God nor necessarily cannot be God.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A quick online search on this view, shows wide spread of this argument. But someone has <a href=\"https:\/\/forananswer.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/did-john-calvin-really-teach-that.html\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/forananswer.blogspot.com\/2006\/10\/did-john-calvin-really-teach-that.html\">already taken a good crack at it<\/a>.
