The word \"<strong>faint<\/strong>\/overwhelmed\/\u53d1\u660f \u05e2\u05d8\u05e3 <em>ataph<\/em>\" in \"when my heart is <strong>faint<\/strong>\", has in ancient Hebrew mindset: <em>It felt like you were being completely submerged or swept away by waves of grief, panic, or enemies<\/em>. This can also be seen as asking God to bring David above the <strong>rising flood<\/strong> in \"lead me to the <strong>rock that is higher<\/strong>\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">v.8: David\u2019s mention of vows exposes a profound spiritual principle: <strong>He refused to treat God like a cosmic vending machine.<\/strong> This vow would be the Neder, the vow sacrifice - peace offerings or thank offerings. Done when a person is in distress not as a bribe to God, but as true worship of a gracious God.
