But this is finally my coming across on the same topic by American Christians. Believed to be a kind of frilly, pouting to get what you want-feminist, trad-wife-to-be, husband-pleasing, promoting-masculinity-in-men movement (which probably laid the foundation for today's anti-femininity feminist movement), which was what the Chinese version of \"\u59b3\u4eec\u5973\u5b50\u8981\u5b66\u6492\u5a07\", an exhortation by a Chinese wife of a pastor, I think, decades back, come from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe this was prompted by the author's book: <strong>Live Laugh Love : The Secret History of White Christian Women and the World They Made<\/strong>, by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kristin_Kobes_Du_Mez\">Kobes Du Mez, Kristin<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This idea, according to Du Mez, is a sort of Prosperity Gospel (\"Do this, and you'll get that\": Be womanly, ladylike, and your husbands will love you; Obey God, and you shall be blessed with this). And this particular Western idea of \u6492\u5a07 [not necessarily only found in the East], is according to the author, originates from New Thought Movement, then Mormon author <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/fascinatingwoman00ande\">Helen Andelin's Fascinating Womanhood<\/a>, and then in the famous 70s book by Andelin's student, Marabel Morgan (from Campus Crusade), titled \"<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/totalwoman00mmor\/page\/n13\/mode\/2up\">The Total Woman<\/a>: How to make your marriage come alive!\"<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is an interesting interview by the Holy Post Media, between Skye Jethani and Historian Kristin Kobes Du Mez: I have once pondered upon the idea of \u6492\u5a07 (\"you pout if you don't get your way\").
