Pricey, Fuzhounese blandness imitating Taiwanese food I think. Ordered Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup for $18.

Dealt with a slightly older, yet stubborn luddite male technophobe teacher at 508 (NYGC) complaining about the computer monitor screen resolutions being upset by dual mirroring with the TV. In order to make him get my point, rather than just expecting my magic spell would fix things permanently: "Today you see this screen, tomorrow, you'll see a different screen, etc. because you have different teachers before you using it differently" However, he was right about the computer being louder than usual in the fan, so I need to tend to that.

Took an early train home from SPG. 4:38PM express train. So that I could attend, for the first time, the Wednesday Bible Study at Garden State Baptist Church (the IFB church I am visiting for a 2nd time), at 6:30PM. The pastor basically was preaching about Silas in Acts 15, being a better choice than John Mark for Paul's ministry. And that Paul was RIGHT, while Barnabas was WRONG. I like the directly he was heading, but he went far too extreme as if implying that Barnabas and John Mark's ministry was of no interest to God. The pastor did ask for questions, comments, observations, in the end, but he talked so much that I don't know if anyone ever had a question opportunity to ask. One old lady (Luta) did raised her hands when prayer request was asked. The format was simple. Song (piano played well by a black young girl of maybe 10-15 years old), long 1 hour monologue "sermon" and another hymn, and then ending with private prayers. Luta spoke to me in the end after prayer as others disappeared. I would expect more discussion or listening to the audience. I probably won't return to this Wednesday one. Also there was this thing about asking the rich to contribute $1.3 million for a church in Newark, using 1 Timothy 6:17. A stretch of a charge for humility in the wealthy and somewhat twisting of the word "charge".

I was able to Granola this.

I got the remaining PTO I have for SP this year. Are we going to Montreal and Quebec City this time? It's up to Nadia. The Tesla Model Y, especially its FSD, really motivates. I just realized that I forgot to match my PTO request with the Wednesdays Crossroads have their Bible study:

Wednesdays in the Word

Wednesdays, November 4, & November 18, 5:30p-7:00p

We will be continuing our Wednesdays in the Word series on "Why We Should Trust the Bible" Dinner will be provided and a children's program will also be provided. so we can order enough food (you can make updates for specific dates when we approach those dates if you need to change your plans). The sign-up deadline for dinner for Wednesday 11/4 is Sunday, Nov 1!

But given the basic title, which I'd expect more from a PCA church, (Just had similar after service Bible class at the last Chinese non-denominational denomination church I visited a few weeks ago), I think it's okay to pass, unless I am motivated that day to take a super early train (before 4pm) home in order to make it to Crossroads weirdly scheduled Wednesday Bible Study at 5:30pm. This is the first "Adult Sunday School or Bible Study" I know they have since coming to this church last November. Of course, they could always excuse themselves with the existence of their seasonal and consistent small groups. But that's not the same and the small groups, at least the one we attended, seems more focused on prayer meetings and chit chat than Bible study (when you divide the time even 50/50 for Bible study, I don't think you take biblical discussion seriously anymore).

10/27/2026 Tuesday

Left work (SPG) early to attend a conference at 5pm (I came around 5:30pm because I was waiting for Ken to leave work first and they were still drinking at the Taylor Public House) called Great VM Reset - Hybrid Polycloud. I Granola-ed this. Some marketing folk from CBTS/HPE found my SP email address and asked me to come as prospective customer with the incentive of a free Meta Ray-Ban glasses (if I do their follow-up discussion, which is yet to be scheduled). I tried to pitch them to consider my IT director role in NYGC instead of the mere IT analyst at SP because I am trying to get the Ray-Ban. I think they really prefer business from SP rather than NYGC.

10/28/2026 Wednesday Took the 9:58am train to work, so that I can stop by NYGC first for about 30-60 mins before SPG at Lexington Ave. I had breakfast at Emperor Dumplings at 28th St. & 6th Ave. before NYGC.
