I have been told by my violin teacher Ms. Ooi Chen Hoon (I think this is the right spelling, it's been a while) that perfect pitch is a gift from birth. Therefore, some have it, some don't.<\/p>\n
I wasn't sure if I had perfect pitch, but my mother once told me she believed I had it.<\/p>\n
Then it seemed that I only have relative pitch, rather than absolute pitch (perfect pitch). Relative pitch is basically what all musicians should develope, knowing the intervals of tones.<\/p>\n
Only until recently (last Sunday) that I witness the first person who exhibited absolute pitch. Jack Lin. Incredible indeed.<\/p>\n
Then I came across this article by David Lucas Burge that perfect pitch could be trained. Rather old school, 1981. But I never knew about it until now.<\/p>\n
So, I'll look into it, and see what princples lie within.<\/p>\n
