Rally Week: Dr. Tong's NYC big rally 2016, since 2010

Today marks the end of the NYC rally for this year. Perhaps he would come again in 2, 3 years. I sensed an unlikely chance of talking to him in person again, hence I thanked him today for coming to NYC after CCCNY service where he preached and took a photo with him. The only photo I have ever taken with him without a crowd.

I may try to visit the Columbia University fellowship, since they collaborated with the STEMI ministry to host the seminar talk on Thursday. Venue: Hamilton Hall 304, 7:30PM every Friday. ccbsg.org

During CCCNY service, Pak Tong mentioned that he did not like the song "I love to Tell the Story" by A. Catherine Hankey. Unlike the Chinese translation, the song in English does not give the content of what this "story" is all about. I may have noted it before, but it is true. Good for the Chinese then.

Listening to Pak Tong's sermon is always very inspiring and persuasive in indulging myself in the ministry of the Lord. Talking to him, even if it's short, is also encouraging.

The Gay Hypocrisy

The homosexual advocates have already displayed their hypocrisy when they do not extend the same courtesy of tolerance to pedophiles.

How to tell: Gospel Centered

If I were to measure, to some extend of accuracy, among Christians that are Gospel centered or not:

Those who preach - Gospel Centered

Those who do not - Moral Centered

At least these are the ultimate ends each of the two will achieve, in spite of their theological depth.

Windows 10 taking hours to boot (after changing root permission)

I don't know which idiot recommended changing root permission to fix store apps opening problem in Windows 10. This caused Windows to take a couple of hours to boot.

Dream: Face on Chick

Just had a dream some biologist managed to put two small supposedly human faces on the body of a little chick, and vice versa I think (Can't remember this latter part). I tried to touch the chick. The texture of the entire body and feathers looked strange, but I couldn't feel much of it when touching it. Everything else looks cute except for the front of the chick, which has larger tweety-bird cartoon like eyes and some breathing chamber at the bottom.

This could be due to a joke remark I made a day before regarding putting human ears on mouse?

The City College CUNY Class: EAS 10600 Earth System Science

Professor: Karin Block

The Smithsonianmag.com article on James Hutton 1726-1797 (Father of Modern Geology) certainly drew my interest in the subject: "The genealogy of these ideas ... goes from Hutton to Playfair to Lyell to Darwin."

Then Catastrophism vs. Uniformitarianism (Hutton's view) is introduced.

This is also interestingly referred by Answers in Genesis. There seems to be a well documented history of the views on Earth's age. For example, Gap Theory was introduced not by Vos (as I had previously thought from reading Vos' commentary), but by someone earlier, Thomas Chalmers (1780–1847).

The professor did refute young-earth creationists view (Earth is not 6000 years old).

I supposed the most important challenge is the glossary.

Definitions Training is for this class is now available on Memrise.

The City College CUNY Class: MATH 34500 Number Theory

Professor Jay Jorgenson

Starting with modular arithmetic.

Ascii code for is 240. (Alt-240). No need Latex for this.
± is 241.
≥ is 242.
≤ is 243.
And I think I'll use % for mod. Simpler.

Preach by living a good example?

There are those Christians who do not want to preach the Gospel verbally. They say: I preach by living a life of good example. There has been always something wrong about this notion, however, the best critic I've heard is this:

Other than Christ, no one is not perfect. So how can you by your good living example amount to anything worthy of the Gospel? You may win over some friends and strangers by default, with pretense or not, but you certainly cannot win someone who knows you well in your family or circle of relatives over to the Gospel.
