Paul's <strong>faith is not the same<\/strong> as James'; James' <strong>work (James 2) and Paul's is also not the same<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paul's <\/strong>\"work\" in Romans, is referring to the self-righteous work. But it <strong>was actually Paul Tillich <\/strong>who said that in his sermon \"You are Accepted\", then published in his book \"The Shaking of the Foundations\" in 1948. <em>\"You are accepted, accepted by that which is greater than you, and the name of which you do not know... Because of Luther, the <strong>Catholics adjusted (for the better)<\/strong> their theology to put more emphasis on grace, though they still require work in salvation. Unfortunately, a couple hundred years later, the <strong>Lutheran also adjusted (for the worse)<\/strong> their theology, seeing that the book of James is also God's revelation, a sort of <strong>balancing <\/strong>act of God using James' notion of <strong>work <\/strong>and Paul's faith <strong>together<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paraphrased from Perplexity.ai: Of course, the Catholics wouldn't admit that they \"adjusted\" their theology because of Luther, but rather: \"Clarified\" and \"Reaffirmed\" their own doctrine of grace and justification, in the Council of Trent (1545-1563), the counter-reformation movement: Though it affirms the necessity of grace, it conflates justification with sanctification in order to credit man's work. A mormon mother who shared her family life on Youtube. She's now <strong>imprisoned<\/strong>, and apparently estranged from all her children and especially her oldest daughter, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sharilfranke\/?hl=en\">Shari<\/a>, who wrote a book (The House of My Mother, A Daughter's Quest for Freedom, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/exmormon\/comments\/1hwjj26\/who_else_is_reading_or_listening_to_shari_frankes\/\">apparently<\/a> the book was actually written by the ghost writer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DEYwl5wvpWM\/?hl=en\">Caroline Ryder<\/a>) about it. I would probably expand any detail of this here instead of creating a new entry. This was after dealing with the Marxist audience with the concept of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Employee_Stock_Ownership_Plan\">ESPP<\/a> (Employee Stock Purchase Program) being practiced in Florida already by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publixstockholder.com\/stock-and-dividend-information\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.publixstockholder.com\/stock-and-dividend-information\">Publix<\/a> (grocery store).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another interesting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/realCharlieKirk\/videos\/619794611216920\/?__tn__=%2CO\">public exchange<\/a> by <strong>Charlie Kirk<\/strong> is the one labeled \"<strong>Can you Be a Christian and a Nationalist<\/strong>\". This has been a particularly interesting topic for me due to the recent debate between Stephen Wolfe (proponent of Christian Nationalism) and Chris Gordon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My take: <em>Charlie Kirk is good, but he actually lost this one in general. His fundamentalist mentality cause him to make false accusations here and there of his interlocutor, without deeper thinking (viz. low IQ).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Can you Be a Christian And a Nationalist?\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/11k8z2YrByk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case Nick wins the general argument. I'm not sure if Nick's a lefty or a Catholic, but his argument is more reformed than Kirk's. Kirk argued as if America = the Church. He miscited (he said in City of God, 3rd Chapter) Augustine's <a href=\"https:\/\/iep.utm.edu\/justwar\/\">Just War Theory<\/a>. He misinterpreted <em>ekklesia<\/em> (Matthew 16:18) as government instead of church, an apparently fundamentalist low IQ view of Israel\/nation vs. the Church. Nick should have stuck to <strong>Israel being the shadow type of the Church<\/strong>. And that Christian Nationalism is simply <strong>man's work, rather than God's work to bring God's kingdom to Earth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7\/6\/2025 Sun<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2nd time a new family visited our church today.
