Book: Purpose Driven Life

I have yet to read this book entirely. But I have briefly skimmed through the pages. Rick Warren's (author/pastor of Saddleback Church) book is basically a 40 chapter/course book on living out a good christian life.

In otherwords, it is just another methodological christian book among thousands and thousands of them out there. It has no need to be viewed so highly upon as it is. I would read it when I have time to discover time travel.

The only reason it is so popular is because our dear Pastor Warren brought up one of the largest churches (20,000 attendance weekly average). Nonetheless, Orange County was already the most concentrated christian area not just in California, but on the ENTIRE EAST COST of Northern America. Thus, it is no shocking matter. It would be shocking if the church is any smaller.

In other words, this is nothing to be so proud of. Methods are good, ideas are good. It is the priviledge God has blessed our minds with. Nonetheless, by submitting to popularity of compromising doctrines with Epicureanism or such alike, and not the quality of the central focus of the word of God, we are no different than the 31,700 men who wanted to war against the Midianites, descendants of Keturah (Judges 7).
