The oriental culture usually perceives faith differently than that of the Western.
Faith of the East is usually in the realm of superstition, or developed from the realm of such, blind loyalty, blind faith.
While faith of the West is of the question of true or false, logical or illogical, sense or no sense.
True faith consists of the wisdom, word of God, promise of God, and righteousness.
Therefore, when we see someone has "fallen from the grace of God" which in non-existence in the eternal design of God for one will never fall away forever if he is under the limited atonement of God, that does not mean that God has failed nor that he had been saved at some point before but that he had failed to understand the meaning of grace and salvation. He had simply come to God before under false faith, which is not faith at all. Perhaps he had come to believe God because others around him have, or that he had no other choice as he felt being around christians are more comfortable (so another religion with "more comfortable" community would have changed his mind), or that he thought all religions are the same and since his friends and family are mostly christians, he'll pick this one (which can be swayed by Unitarianism).
A faith without the promise of God is no faith. A faith without the word of God is no faith. A faith without walking with God is no faith. A faith with these AND anything else that's above these is no faith. For example: A faith that is all about how you love God based on your own understanding of love, how you are able to feel God's presence in a self-promoting self-confident way in order to love and have a relationship with Him, with the addition of Bible study and some charity because they are the tradition of the Church...is no faith. For true knowledge of anything with God is obtained from the word of God and the promise of God. No one can gain such on his own. His freedom is not absolute. Only God's is. All men's freedom have been corrupted, no one has the freedom to be good without God's help. The freedom that is thought to be good is actually the depraved freedom since the fall of mankind which has no definition of good that is considered to be the perfect or the perfected perfection by God.
So even faith, true faith, is given by God to individuals, not of one's own free will. It is not blind faith, nonetheless, it is supra-rational. Such is also the word of God.
