Aquarium Update (8/2/2021): Peppermint Shrimp died

Saw one of the two peppermint shrimp died and got stuck on the intake of the Jebao powerhead. I am guessing it's the high Nitrate (40+ ppm). So far that's been my only dilemma. Although, there's some black spots growing on both shrimps. I did a quick google and it was said to be black spot disease (bacteria) due to bad water quality. Or Epicaridean Isopod. Quite a number of results for google.

I purchased some magnetic coral frag rack in order to raise future frags up closer to the light to get more PAR. But before that could happen, I need my tank to be low on Nitrate. So I'm currently trying to figure out how, without much water change. I placed all the dead frags on those racks and I think I am seeing some green algae growing on them but very slowly.

The lawnmower Blenny was a good choice. It started eating brown (diatoms?) on the glass and live rocks. Good cleaner!
