At first I thought this news is from some middle eastern countries, but judging from the title "Daily Telegraph" and the bottom passage, one can only assume it's from UK. Very poor news reporting...not the first time by ChristianToday.
The Christianity in UK is that bad now? Someone converting to Christian is that offensive in society? Hmm...When will this happen to America? It seems that the Americans are not too far from similar situation.
This is due to lack of people truly seeking God, doing God's will, spreading the Gospel by diligently studying the knowledge and grace of God's first, bravely be the salt and light of the world--FOR GOD, hypocritically concluding by not doing all the above they are doing the right thing, they are nice enough and following the heresy of "not judging".
