Primarily, it's due to a none to anti Gospel centeredness, which takes time to confirm. But what then? Other than saying to them in their ignorance and pride should they have any chance to commit them (Haha, look at you now that you have left, the state that you are in): Had I not left, I would have had been in a worst state had I stayed with you all right now. Is my default response.
However, there is another good reason: Attitude and principle on serving. Theologically. For example, it is virtually accurate for me to not associate my definition of being a servant of God with theirs.
For example, this entry came to mind when I was reminded of when Rev. Lin of CCCNY once asked me "are you serving in that other church", to which I responded "No". At the time, I was thinking "Well, actually listening to sermons is already considered serving, but you wouldn't understand." Now, I've come to conclude that my response to her will always be "No", because of other reasons on defining servitude in the Lord, unless that definition is corrected, on her end, for instance. For example, I would still answer No, I'm not serving, to her, because according to her, serving is a burden stripped of pleasure, from our past correspondence. Therefore, we do not have the same definition on serving, so No, I would never be serving in the church according to her definition. Her worst rebellious response, which I doubt she would, unlike the narrow minded fundamentalists, would be to accuse me of lying.
