I remember a story of a grandfather watching his grandson's hockey game - (Macgyver show)
When the boy won the game by tripping the opponent with his hockey stick, his grandfather saw it and wasn't happy. Everyone cheering for his team. As he ran to his grandpa who's by the viewers' box shouting "I won! I won!"
The grandfather answered: "I saw you tripped the kid",
the boy responded: "But I won!!!",
the grandfather gave him a calm but disappointed look: "No bud, you didn't".
The boy took a paused yet careful look at his grandfather's face and he ran back to the referee and explained everything and the score was changed, the table turned. The boy secretly turned face to his grandfather from afar in the middle of the game field and was satisfied when he detected a slight smile of approval on his grandfather's face.
It is so, when we do the will of our heavenly Father. We should care only if our Father approves of what we do from the midst of all cheering and approval from famous people with titles to closest friends or family, even from ourselves. Therefore, it is crucial to recognize, that the Bible, the word of God, is the only source to know the will of God.
I shall diligently seek after the face of God my father, for Thou shalt make me full of joy with Thy Countenance. (Proverbs 7:15, Acts 2:28, etc.)
