I've finally took the effort and found the picture taken in 1950, thanks to Corbis/Bettmann who owns the right. Added to my album.
The first time I read of President Truman rebuke was from an edition of Times magazine feature Billy Graham on the cover.
It is a good study, to see the repercussion of some great preachers' fault in public. I'm sure it played crucial impact to Graham's later attitude in faith and in the Lord's work be it good or bad consequences.
And then, to examine myself, less I be judged less by my Lord. That my righteousness exceeds such.
From wikipedia:
Truman wrote about Graham in his autobiography Plain Speaking:
But now we've got just this one evangelist, this Billy Graham, and
he's gone off the beam. He's...well, I hadn’t ought to say this, but
he’s one of those counterfeits I was telling you about. He claims he's a
friend of all the Presidents, but he was never a friend of mine when I
was President. I just don’t go for people like that. All he's interested
in is getting his name in the paper.
Instead of really repented of his action, regretting his 'counterfeit' as a sinner, he'd rather regretted as a victim:
The Truman story has often been repeated by Graham himself, usually to
justify his refusal to reveal the substance of his conversations with
other world leaders. (When Worlds Collide)
