I've come across so many news and articles about how many so called "patriots" who criminalize all immigrants in any way they can.
I would imagine they are in some sort of debt or lost their jobs because of something pertaining to immigrants.
The common key: jealousy.
In the sense of doing charity and missionary ministry, one often expect the people they help to be less fortunate, even of lower stature than one self. Even Christians fall into this trap easily. Thus, when the people one is trying to help suddenly appear to be in a better position than oneself, the reaction is incredible.
Perhaps, I could contrast an immigrant's suffering in this land to the Israelites settlement in a "promised" land of God. The tribes were jealous of Israelites for taking their lands but were in fact due to their own sins against God. The Americans got jealous of immigrants due to their laziness.
As for whether Godliness is brought to this land, perhaps it is time to call upon the name of God.
