Vatican dissing on film Avatar

This is one of those few moments I commend the Roman Catholic church.

"Nature is no longer a creation to defend, but a divinity to worship" by Vatican Radio.

The last one was on homosexuality. Once again, the Vatican sobers on God's doctrine against misusing our God given human status on this planet, regardless of the intention. Something many evangelicals today would work very hard to be irresponsible of.

Though we do give credit where it's due, in reply to the popular response "it's just a movie", I would ask: If I were to give you a BEAUTIFUL cup of poison, would you still drink it and say it's just a cup?

Recalling a yough group sunday school I taught this past Sunday, the topic was on global warming. I've used resources from Nicenecouncil.com which brings attention to a sound mind towards facts and information given by media such as Al Gore's An Iinconvenient Truth. Speaking of Avatar, I didn't brought up the name, but merely hinted the increasing existence of such movies which level mankind and other creations on the same qualitative plane of position when I brought up the term "Gaia Hypothesis". The reason I didn't bring up the title "Avatar" or any other is because I want them to judge it themselves while I establish the foundational principle of clear sobriety. After all, no one told me about Avatar and I was well aware of the problem once a hint of "mother planet" came up half way during the show.

The 3D effect is incredibly detail. Or maybe it's been a while since I last went to a cinema theater and I think this was my first full length 3D movie. The plot on the other hand is nothing new. It is merely bringing the American Indian's cultures and beliefs into space.
