The Last Supper by Peter Greenaway

Last night I visited the Park Avenue Armory, after noting the news on NY1.

The exhibit was a up to scale remake of Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper. Using digital lights to show shadows and prominent features of the painting in various 3-dimensional illustrations while the painting remains. Very impressive. Although, I think $15 is a bit too much for me, unless I could record it or own the digital video somehow.

Later, was a quick demo of another painting. Veronese's Wedding at Cana. Thanks to the 3D technology in paintings, I learned how closely authentic this feast table was (though a good artist may easily spot it), the U shaped table common to the ancients. I really doubt there are any, if none, popular paintings of the feast tables of those times. But I'm sure Leonardo knew it and he had only intended his painting to show more colors than facts.

Greenaway used 3D technology to show how Veronese's Wedding painting realizes the traditional "U" shaped reclining table of the culture, making the setting very authentic.

I have stored it under the name: PAA_HouseProgram.pdf
    in my e-library's "History" folder.
