Geovision: Remote ViewLog Unable to connect to Server

This is probably the second time I faced this problem at NYGC.

When Geovision's Remote Viewlog is opened, it cannot connect on certain computer, saying Unable to Connect to Server. Please verify the IP address and port number.

Solution:

There was nothing wrong with the firewall or router or network. It is due to the incompatible versions of the Viewlog installed. Sometimes even after update, the old version is not removed or that the DMMultiview will still connect to the old version.

Thus, new version can easily be accessed via START->All Programs->Remote ViewLog. Or by editing the registry->HK_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->GEOVISION->...change all path from v800 (old) to the new C:\Program Files\Geovision\Remote Viewlog
