Some traditional church elderly's legacy is how well they've run away from hardship. And their suffering was how they ran away from hardship.
On another several occasions, I've heard "as long as they attend Sunday service"...as if that would justify everything. If the church they attend is that of the extreme, or some charismatic frenzy type, I'd say it is better for them to go to bars and night clubs than to attend these. For those in the bars could still say "I regret and shall turn my way around"; but the former would reply "This is the way I worship God, this is how the Spirit works, better than your Bible and your way".
