Passive Evil

Recently, I've been hearing much of John MacArthur's Podcasts on submission to civil authority.

I agree.

But somehow, MacArthur sounded to me as if one should not actively voice against such things (as if it's protesting) in public (including among non-believers). If that is so, then I would have a question mark on it.

And now I came across a great statement by one of John Piper's mentor, Paul Jewett:

"he who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

Of Course, John Calvin already had a similar statement about the so called "neutral" or third party.

I myself abhor such party more than either of the opposing two parties, unless the reason for not having a side is due to lack of knowledge and keeping a shut mouth. Otherwise, the more they feel they are the best group, the worst kind of the 3 they really are.

On the side note, in that same article, I, as always, have a profound love for John Piper's mother's character. Those who stood for others against all odds for selfless reasons.
