While many like John Piper, MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, etc. refused to sign it on the major issue of ecumenical disagreement, I applaud Tim Keller for signing it...Ravi Zacharias as well.
It is an abomination to mix catholicism doctrines with protestant ones; but for all intents and purposes, I believe the Manhattan Declaration focuses on a man and woman marriage.
I have noticed the likes of MacArthur, fluent with Biblical expository, loves to read books, but somewhat legalistic when dealing with outsiders. He has the know how, but not doer. It is no wonder there are some who fail the same way under him. And they are worse because not only are they not doers, they don't have the know how either.
These including Piper and Sproul, them being from the White South/midwest, hints something relevant to me. Not that they are racists, but I suspect their congregations are and they are not doing anything about it, because they do not like confrontations especially from within their own congregations.
It is the job...
