DoubleHex - thanks for trying but that wasn't the issue. There is a
known issue when the toolbar or send is missing. Here is the fix I
found
a suggestion from the Microsoft Community forum solved my problem.
Deleting the file named outcdm.dat in the C:\Documents and
Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder did the trick.
