True, it is fascinating to work on the math of multiverse, pre-big bang stuff...anything that obviously would explain God away, or rather, further away.
If there are two possible path to take, one of faith in God, and the other is the explanation of origin, should we study both? This is where one states that mankind wants to stay away from God when they rejects all works of God but scientific studies.

I would say: Hey, shouldn't you consider the faith path? Rather than just trying to explain nature as if away from God's hand.
They would reply: Instead of getting stuck in the faith path, why don't you look at all these scientific discoveries.
I would reply: But you are forgetting, the impact on one's life is different depending on which path you choose.
