David's intention to build God's temple is perhaps, out of pitty at some unintentional level. (2 Samuel Chapter 7).
As a man after God's own heart, he failed in wisdom of kairos. Eventhough he did not attempt to dethrone King Saul.
"Kairos is a Greek term used to differentiate from chronos. As chronos means our normal everyday time, kairos means a special time. Such as the moment when a man and a woman fell in love for each other for the first time, etc. Hence, the greatest definition of kairos would be God's Time."
As a king living in peace, he failed to continue to seek the countenance of God, instead he searched after his own heart to serve God. Misuse of terminology is Satan's greatest weapon. Since the time of Adam and Eve to Peter and up to our time, the catholics, the charismatic movement, the protestants, among those we call brothers and sisters, and ourselves, this has been the most effective weapon, making us thinking that we are serving on the path of the truth, but actually sending us off track.
Is the Church a failure? Nay. The Church is a witness in the storm. A witness of Christ.
