Coursera

This week marks the beginning. I am starting 3 courses. Nadia started Standford's Game Theory with (on separate time) me. My two other courses are Duke's Evolution and Caltech's Galaxies & Cosmology.

Cosmology professor is a master of hypnosis. I fell asleep multiple times on the subway. Yes. These courses are in video format and I have them transferred to my phone. Never waste time while commuting. That's a little more than 1/5th of my urban life. This is why though I can have a driver's license, I would be very very reluctant to drive in this city.

Since some courses aren't geared for learning (boringly reciting text books or formulas without any explanations), I've dropped/un-enrolled several courses:
    1. George Djorgovski's Galaxies and Cosmology (Caltech)
    2. Dan Boneh's Cryptography I (Standford) <-- There maybe some hope for this one...but I do not have time now. 3. Jeffrey S. Moore, Nicholas Llewellyn's Organic Chemistry Part 1 (Univ. Illinois) These professors are the reason why we sometimes prefer just reading the books ourselves. I think they are assuming these coursera courses are for those who have no money to buy books.
