Form of Baptism

Here is an example of how ancient culture perceive Baptism around Jesus' time. The same terminology, why then is it not submerged?

Yes, eventhough the root meaning of Baptizmo is submerged, it is used for other meanings such as wash, sprinkling, and rituals such as this picture of early first century.
