The Consumer Christian Excuse

Any church pastors/preachers that love to blame church works on the so called "consumer" Christians, are obviously evangelically handicapped.

There is no such thing as a "consumer" Christian.

If there be consumer Christians, there are no Christians at all. And the focus should be to evangelize to them, not putting an oxymoron label on them.

The "Consumer Christian" term comes from preachers/pastors who couldn't stand to be taken advantage of. So the "consumer" notation is in the economic sense. Worldly, secular. I give you something, you give me something back, we each profit each other.

Not in Christianity. "Consumer" is an oxymoron with "Christian". Just like "gay"-"Marriage". Therefore, it is not even possible to be a "Consumer Christian". God gives us freely. God needs nothing from us. God choose us, we don't choose God.

So no need to be afraid of being taken advantage of. We do it what we must and we willingly and joyfully serve for God alone, we are His living sacrifices.

Those who use the term consumer Christians, are basically like Martha.
"If only others would just DO SOMETHING! Don't just sit there and listen to preachers, receiving but not giving! Consumerism!!! You are consumer Christians! Don't be consumer Christians!!!"
