It was clear that many mainline churches were against gay marriages even in America. I was surprised to some extend because judging from the way Ameristians have been handling God's gifts for them, they would always seek compromises with the amount of oppositions they have to face themselves.
True, the works and efforts put into the Proposition 8 were remarkably enthusiastic. But one cannot ignore the fact how it has to come to this. Were pastors not preaching according to God's will? Were churches not educating the general public about marriages? Or were they just doing just what they should in the guise of self-deceived selfishness?
One can certainly argue that if gay marriages were allowed in California, thus undermining the comfort zone, or so called "faith", of the Ameristians, and particularly their pastors, they would be more concerned with their own well-being than God's will. Having to deal with the necessity of conducting gay marriage ceremonies or face the consequences of their own constitutions which they upheld so highly using the excuse of Romans 13.
But perhaps it is not too late, as we have seen God's mercy has been laid upon here yet again, despite the number of pagan worshipers in His churches. Now then, we are more than responsible to pursue and educate with the public the matters of God in all seriousness.
