Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these, Ye have done it unto me

Many radical advocates (some hypocrites included) of charity and helping the "needy" (their own definition), often love to use the verse Matthew 25:40 to justify their cause and proudly raise their anthropocentric philosophy above everyone else's.

I would argue that doing so is a misapplication of the verse. For if they were right, then Jesus' prophecy of such (Matthew 25:30-46) would not be possible, for the righteous answer: Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? (verse 37)

Therefore, not to nullify good works just because the extremists used good works in their jealous and selfish causes, I would say this verse is far deeper than what the shallow-minded claim to understand.
