Readiris Corporate 12 Asian

Readiris' OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is impressive. Of course, no OCR is 100% but this is incredible. I would say an 80-90% accuracy. And no unecessary spacings where the document has paragraphs and tables. It creates its own tables when encountering sections and I could easily copy & paste esctions by sections without worrying too much about removing extra spaces. English recognition is not bad too.

With my newly bought used $65 (less than half price) all-in-one laser printer/fax/scanner(flatbed) Canon imageClass MF3240, it scans fast enough, prints very well. I was told by seller that I should use HP multipurpose paper for laser printers otherwise paper will jam. Perhaps this was why my previous $80 new laser printer (Samsung ML 2010 series) kept jamming all the time because I bought Staple's "cheap" papers.

And amazingly, 3 have replied with satisfaction when I emailed the OCR scanned Chinese church bulletin as text instead of attachment (pdf). After all, who likes to open email attachments every week? Not to mention some check emails on smartphones nowadays. I would need roughly 20-30 minutes longer time to process it, but it's well worth it.
