Adobe Reader (Acrobat) pdf documents missing the top bar section

When clicked on that unusually blank/white bar on the top that's supposed to be where the menu resides, the window behind it is activated to the front as if the blank box is invisible.

CTRL-L method didn't help. But lowering the resolution of the pertaining screen and reverting back works.
