About Me

This is for the purpose of my diary/journal. Not a blog to publicize things. However, I see no need to conceal anything in my journal, plus, it is convenient for me to make entries anywhere, anytime with backups and easy access.

My email address is timlyg "at" yahoo.com

I am a child of God. Slave to my Lord Jesus Christ, my Savior, second person of the Trinity whom I worship and serve. I pray that He who sanctifies me progressively blesses all that belongs to His kingdom.

I discipline myself to learn as much as I can with a central focus in reformed theology and enslave my body to joyfully put my practical life in a gospel centered movement, for evangelism is the duty, not favor, of all Christians.

I am a son of a retired but active mechanical engineer, whose wife is a housewife and teaches piano lessons to help with the family financial need. I have a younger brother who is an accomplished manager. Born and grown in Penang, Malaysia for the first half of my life, I studied in Chung Ling High School. I now live in New York City to help better the city. I have failed my city countless times, but I will not give up. I pray that God shines through me as His vessel to all relatives and family of mine, including my wife, and from my family, to the world.

The attitude you have, do you think you can change city. I feel like city does not need you.

  2. Klm says:

Now god will change the city. What a joke... You talk too much. Why don't you..
Those people talk too much. They can't do any thing

Hey! I'm Rachel & it's really interesting how you keep a blog for your classes -- definitely a habit that seems good esp. to retain information. I'm surprised you're Malaysian too!! (I am hahaha and I never really meet them) + I'm at CCNY :D!

Great! Small world Rachel. It's my new way of note taking. That way I don't have to stack up notebooks and papers in my physical storage. I've digitized virtually everything. Let's hope that the solar flare would not try to take it all from me.

      • Rachel says:

Hahaha I was doing something similar (not quite a journal) until my philosophy professor suggested that not taking notes with pen and paper actually takes away from the learning process. And yet I choose to take his words... ๐Ÿ˜›

Lol!! It won't. What's your major?

        • timlyg says:

I'm Pure math, minor in CS & Philosophy.

If no electronic devices allowed in class, I may do a secret audio recording + transferring my written notes to electronics after class.

          • Rachel says:

            I just saw this xD

But I'm doing applied math with philosophy and 2 other major/minor ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn't it great to do the sciences and humanities at the same time?! ๐Ÿ˜€

            hahaha the secret recording ๐Ÿ˜›

My apology Rachel, I must have missed the alerts on this following posts somehow.
Hope you are doing well, probably graduated ๐Ÿ˜€
Science is lowest form of knowledge. Humanities, higher, but unfortunately, not well taught in a post-modern culture. That's why it's harder anyway.

I think recording for educational purpose is a good thing ๐Ÿ™‚

Again, I'm sorry for not responding for 2 years...I really haven't visited my ABOUT page for a while.

    Cool idea... I like it...
Blogging, electronic Journal to keep a running record of one's thought and intellectual growth...

    • timlyg says:

I'm sorry Peter, I think my alert went to spam. I haven't been visiting this About page for a while. Hence the 2 year delay in responding to you.
I would think of this as Journal instead of Blog ๐Ÿ™‚
Blogging is meant for others to read.
Journal can be meant for others to read ๐Ÿ™‚

Ha! No worries about the late reply (this is Rachel โ€” deleted my former email so I also didnโ€™t get a notification. But suddenly thought of this site for some reason). Have you graduated? Or are you still at CCNY?

Iโ€™m still in disbelief that I used to obsess over math, ended up finding your page, and 2 years later, I have 0 interest in math. :p and I shouldโ€™ve graduated but decided that my calling in life reside somewhere between humanities, entertainment, and trading.... and realized I donโ€™t want to grow old and then pursue my ideal life. So Iโ€™ve been on and off schooling doing my own thing. Just knew an office job making millions doesnโ€™t cut it. :p
