Fort Totten

I cannot believe I have missed or mistaken this for rich private veterans property, for since perhaps my move to the city. Q16 bus to the end, I used to go fishing (only a couple of times actually) nearby.

Fort Totten Park has public swimming pool, a huge area of abandoned military buildings like that of the Governor's Island. All these seem hidden to me because of the "serious" seemingly well guarded entrance gate. I have never seen any public park guarded like this before. But apparently, after inquiries, I learned that the park seems to open 24/7, though there is curfew at night...9pm, I think.

What is great is that I have found the best spot for the most natural, most peaceful, perfect devotional location without distraction. In the morning, as early as possible (5, 6am), I could just find a spot, facing the Great Neck sea, sit down, read my Bible out without any worries of distraction from or to others.

I learned this last Sunday, on bike, when I came home early from church. The next morning I began my first devotion there.

This fun may be short lived, if my move is further away when I get married.
