Goldfinches in Van Cortlandt Park

Finch: Any of numerous small songbirds with short stout bills adapted for crushing seeds. ~ WordWeb

By the stairs of 242nd street 1 train station. Those bushes must be the Bull Thistle Plants. Purple flowers.

In summer time, Yellow birds (male) called the American Goldfinches love to gather in the bush. Females (darker color) are present too.
