A virtuous woman is a CROWN to her husband. (Proverbs 12:4)
She is not a husband's neck. A crown tells more than beauty. It is better to be a crown than to be a neck. Don't be stupid. We are not Jesus' neck.
Ephesians 5:23 says that the husband is the head of the wife. The following verse and Colossians 3:18 say that wives are to submit to their husbands.
Indeed, there are husbands who abuse their wives, who have behaved irresponsibly, leading an otiose marriage. Nonetheless, the word of God stands regardless.
There will be judgment, there will be reward. There will even be good, miraculous testimonies, one that is born of faith. Faith in the Lord, faith in His words. Faith in Truth and Wisdom. It is the duty of the church to ensure this. An abused wife is like a widow whose husband has not left her yet. Nonetheless, divorce should not be the first suggestion. Not according to Christ our Lord. A church should suffer with the wife when she faces suffering. And if there are women in the Lord who are relatives or very close to the suffering woman, let them comfort and suffer with her, do so, so that the church can use its limited resources on other women who have no one else comforting (1 Timothy 5:16).
Those who interpreted this verse differently for fear that it would be mistaken that Christianity despises or looks down on women, they need serious reproach, for they are actually themselves, despising women, while deceiving others by disguising themselves as feminists, in that, they have even deceived themselves of their own deception. Making themselves superficial heroes of women.
Then wait a minute, those who have problem with this verse are mainly women. How could women despise themselves? Yes indeed, there are many women who looked down on themselves as women.
First of all, a man is God's creation. So is a woman, creation of God, and God alone, none other. Thus, the man and the woman are both made perfect in the Beginning. A woman should be satisfied to be a woman, and a man should be satisfied to be a man. For we are all God's creations. Any hindrance of such is an abomination to God. If born an eunuch, still, make full use of all functions given by God to glorify thy maker, for in the resurrection, we neither marry nor are given in marriage (Matthew 22:30). Nonetheless, for a man, BE A MAN, for a woman, BE A WOMAN and marriages must be honored by all, celibate or no celibate (Hebrews 13:4).
And under God's absolute commandment, since the dawn of creation, Wives must submit to Husbands, Husbands must love Wives. Submission is submission, love is love. This verse does not mean "husbands and wives, submit to each other". And no, it does not mean women are lesser than men. It is the structure of God's law, in terms of a perfect family, a perfect nation on Earth. There is only one head in a family, the husband. This does not mean the woman and children are any lesser in human value. If there be a woman that cannot submit, then it is better that she marries not, lest there be chaos.
A wife must learn to submit to her husband regardless of how bossy her husband has become; a husband must learn to love his wife, regardless of how repulsive his wife has become. Even though the effect is mutual, but the tasks are individual. Listen to God, don't listen to the world.
