"...雖然,耶穌知道猶大要賣祂,但仍希望猶大能悔改,所以耶穌從三方面給他機會。..." 楊摩西牧師 <<猶大: http://www.emsionline.org/chinese/slife/sl0303.htm>>
"...eventhough Jesus knew Judas will betray Him, but he still hoped Judas will repent, therefore, he gave him opportunities from three perspectives..." Rev. Moses Yang.
This is an example of those who cannot correct their errors in certain doctrines while recognizing the contradiction. So, by stating that they are aware of the contradiction, they think that they could better deliver their erroneous message.
If one must insist, I'd say this is an example of solecism.
If Jesus knew Judas will betray Him, how would He "HOPE" for Judas to repent? This is a problem for those who cannot accept the fact that there are those whom God elect not.
If there be elected ones of God, chosen ones of God, then, naturally, there will be those who aren't chosen. Simple common sense.
We would then have to ponder upon the dilemma: Does God Hope or Wish?
How would we relate the likeness of "hope" in us with God? If there's ever such a thing as likeness of hope.
It is easy to say hopes or wishes don't always come true...but we forgot, with God's promises, hope will always come true. It is only when we do not hope as God would have us, we hope in vain.
But God does not hope in vain. If He wills, it will be done.
The beautiful thing is, even when free choices of men are involved, God's will will still be done.
So, saying that God's hope can sometimes be hindered is incorrect. God's hope is God's will.
Of all the occurrences in the Bible, God's will have never fail. If it seems otherwise, it is only because God willed not to be so, so that we can see even more of His glory.
Thy will be done! Amen.
