I have at least two theories that could be going on as to why the West love to adopt children. Apart from true love and care for God's little children. I'm not touching foster care system, one that is usually exploited for financial/material gain by foster parents, as that's a separate matter from adoption.
- Most obvious reason is that babies/toddlers are cute. And better investment than having cute pets. This is a childish view, as when the child grows, the adoptive parents are ill prepared in this case.
- (In Christian homes) They think this is the alternative to evangelize. Raising children since birth = If you come from a Christian home you must be easily a Christian. If this is an excuse from Evangelism, it is a fail. That's not how evangelism (to purposely prepare for challenges) works. A lot of these adopted children end up on the extreme left wing spectrum, because the parents aren't really familiar what Christianity, which they claim, is.
