Many Christian Organizations in America such as YWCA, YMCA, etc. are not really "christian" centric, they are just another social club with a religious founder.
So when asked something like "Is YWCA a christian organization?" I would reply "Well, the C stands for Christian, but it is just for show, it doesn't have to be anything related to christianity". This is why they can have non-christian examples like smoking, cursing, and even renting spaces to organizations such as the Gay & Lesbian clubs.
