Sometimes new hard drives connected to USB enclosure won't show up in window explorer even after it's been detected. This is because it has not been initialized and formated right.
To do that: Right click My Computer -> Manager -> Disk Management -> (in lower right corner) look for the new drive, be certain, and right click on it to initialize/format. Wait until the formating is done.
