After much struggle with the use of contemporary music in GCC, this is the conclusion I firmly come to:

    1. If there's no improvement in the musical field: no knowledge nor desire to learn simple musical notations, memorizing hymn verses, etc. It is just like going to an English speaking church without improvement in English as second language. You cannot say you truly care about learning along with worship.

    2. Despite the claim of "reformed" title in a church, when all the church's music worship is about modernity: worship leader on stage holding a mic singing only contemporary songs with some guitar and drum, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir undoubtedly has far superior worship team than this. It's better for me to sit through/with the Tabernacle Choir's music than listening/singalong with these modern stage singers waving hands in the air singing prom songs to Jesus. Despite stealing great treasures from the mainstream Christian who ignorantly discarded their own precious heritage/inheritance, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (and other non-Christian oratorio societies and such) have in their hands quality works in worship.
