How Business Works under God? Ah, But that one thing that obstructs me!

Time...I know, I calculate, I established with confidence.

People...I also know. I examine, I analyze, and often my conclusion has not been too far from the truth.

But money...ah yes, money. I have run into a wall, a brick wall. I cannot be too generous, or my clients will take advantage. Nor can I be ungenerous, for I am a Christian and I have the Lord's commission and honor at hand. And the only way is through the Bible. What then? How can business be business and other matters be other matters. What fools have such saying? Are not all things to be done to the glory of God?

Nonetheless, one thing I am sure. Quality is first. Many obviously knew this. But knowing is different than working. Descartes' "Cogito, Ergo Sum", I shall rephrase it to be "Cogito et Actus, Ergo Sum". So you are what you know and how you respond. Do you use what you know to your own advantage? what is your motive? to be truly honest? or to be "legally" "honest"?

Yes, I admit, I am short in this last part. I therefore need to learn and find the truth from God through His word, the Bible. But I also am aware that many others who thought they were not, were indeed. Oh, so many have been wearing masks of honesty and dignity and pride for so long they forgot to take off those masks and look real good into a mirror. For who do you think you are before the righteous Judge?

Eating Blood

In oriental culture, bloods are eaten in their precipitate state. I
lovED eating blood too at one time, one too many times. And I WAS already Christian. I WAS
using ICorinthians chapter 8 as my alibi.

However, eating blood is not a matter of who has stronger conscience, but a matter of theology.

Drinking/Eating Blood, in the old testament, is forbidden.

In
the new testament, Jesus said: John 6:53 Verily, verily, I say unto
you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye
have no life in you. (我實實在在的告訴你們,你們若不吃人子的肉,不喝人子的血,就沒有生命在你們裡面。)

And
that in Acts 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to
lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things...

Since this has been of the Holy Spirit, why would I keep eating blood?
And
since I know that blood is life, and the real life for men is Jesus
Christ, thus His blood, the blood he shed on the cross, how can I think
of His blood sacrifice while eating others' blood? Unless I do not
think of such. But, all things I do, I do to the glory of God,
ICorinthians 10:31. So I must be thinking something else to not have
known this; how can I think of something else if I'm a child of God? I
must seek His countenance always.

However, there are times blood
cannot be avoided in food, such as blood in chicken bones, beef soups,
etc. And there are times where blood is used for medical purposes.
Abstaining from blood in this case would be obtuse(Mat 15:17, 1Cor
8:8). But this is different from deliberately eating blood piece by
piece when you got other choices.

Now,
eating blood and food
sacrificed to idols are not quite the same things. The
Israelites were very easily influenced by idols worshipping neighbors
before their exile to Babylon. One is to be holy, idol worshipping
is obviously not right in the sight of God, and therefore, it is
crucial that their minds were not corrupted and remain holy to God.
Only after their Babylon Exile, was it more clear that all idols are
nothing compared to God. So what 1Corinthians Chapter 8 was saying is
that there are still some, because being used to idols worshipping,
they still believed that those idols are great enough to have some
authority over their food, and therefore they fear that they would
offend the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob.

Hence
it is clear now that these two statements should make sense: We DO EAT
because those sacrificed to idols are just food, and has nothing to do
with the idols for the idols are nothing compared to God. We DO NOT EAT them only because it has something to do
with the idols. Then, it is clear that we do all these, in honor of God.

But
eating blood has nothing to do with idols WHATSOEVER. So it is a rather
different case. Acts 15's ORIGINAL TEXT did not specifically say Not to
EAT food sacrificed to Idols. But rather, implying keeping away from
any thing that are of the idols, worshipping idols, sacrificing to
idols, pollution of idolatry, even to the extend of admiring fantasy
life and worldly riches. However, it did mention about abstaining from
blood, and strangled things. The latter, which I just learned last Sunday, is
related to blood being trapped in a strangled animal.

So now it
should be clear to understand these 2 statements: We DO NOT EAT BLOOD because it is for remembrance of
the blood Christ has shed, the holy communion we have been partaking,
and that we want the eternal life from Christ, not from beasts. We CAN EAT BLOOD because
we have NO CHOICE AND it does not defile us. Therefore, such restriction, I do not believe that it should be considered absolute.

For me, not only abstaining from eating of blood keeps me focus on Christ, it
will also be a great testimony of Christ to gentiles and new christians
alike.

Spiritual Warfare

Even during lunch, any conversation...

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

所以,你們或吃或喝,無論做什麼,都要為榮耀神而行。

Cry for others

Oh how can I cry for the hardness of others?

How can I cry for those who claim to be christians, ever learning, and yet never come to the truth?

Is my heart so hard? Should not I cry for myself and others?

What hardness has lurked throughout the era of this age. Sodom and Gomorrah, you have heard of the word of God, you have memorized it, you have used, spoken things concerning the words of God, but you never heed.

The day will come, when you will say: Lord! Lord! have we not called your name, have we not preached your words.

But the only response you will get is: I do not know you, begone!

Now to all who claim christians, how are you going to explain Rom 10:13.

What do you think evil doers mean?

The obvious evil? or the evil that's not so obvious? or the evil that actually seems legal, good, nice, cute? Don't you believe in cute evil? Don't you know that being a christian does not mean that all things you do, think, love, like, feel are always in accordance with God? I'm not talking about the obvious, I am referring to the ones you think they are in God's favor. I am asking you to think again. Do you think the gate is wide or narrow?

How alive do you think the Bible, the words of God is?

The challenge of Truth

What if christians were interpreting the Bible incorrectly...

What steps are taken...

1. Be wise, critical so that the error is made clear...out of the confusion.

What if there's more to say and so little time?

1. Be precise, simplicity, quality.

So one needs to be well prepared in the art of the Bible?

Don't forget, many misinterpreting the Bible would think they are interpreting it correctly and without full understanding of the Bible, it is hard to face the challenge. Hermeneutics is based on historical orthodoxy, not on modern separation.

Paul & Barnabas

It is crucial to not compromise the right way and path to God.

However, it is important to encourage others in testifying Christ. Be it that they are just freshmen or seniors in spiritual growth.

Today I have failed to do such. A sister in a play rehearsal has ad-libbed a line in the end "Come, Jesus has prepared a great blessing for you", in addition to "come, delicious food, fun, etc". I mention this because she also had other suggestions that weren't theatrically proper, as in too much ad-libbing and stage-audience relationship.

I do not like the "fun" or "club" words as those give the impression of entertainment. The church is a place of worship. Not entertainment. Joy is not entertainment. Entertainment is the human satisfaction of oneself regardless of God, christians and non-christians alike. But Joy is the marvel of God's greatness.

Christians should not use songs from the pop culture as if to attract gentiles of that culture, or whatever style according to those of that fashion. Nor the idea of entertainment. Should there be a quality in those things, if it is of the eternal value, then it wasn't originated from those things, but copied. Copied from the Bible, copied from christians.

I find myself lacking in this area, and afraid of over reacting when speaking up.

It is crucial for me to find such balance.

May God have mercy upon me. Amen.

The Essence of Predestination

To speak of Predestination, we believe what is said by the Bible. Which is regarding the predestined salvation of the children of God.

What is predestination, to understand it, I would say there are three possible outcomes pertaining to the issue of predestination:

One is to ask himself...

1. Does God mold people?

2. Do people mold God?

3. Do God and people mold each other?

If one examines these 3 questions carefully, and found the right one, then it is obvious that the other two are rather childish. Because men are not greater than God, also, men are not God's equal.

Free with membership (Business MamboJumbo)

Next time if you see something offered for free, but you need to pay for it's membership, initiation fee, etc. just reply:

My money is "free" for you, if you can break the same change in return.

If the proposal is refused,

refuse back.
