The Redemptive-Historical Connection:

David cries out with a faint heart.(Jesus experiences agony in Gethsemane) ───► Christ is the ultimate Rock of safety for believers. ───► The prayer for the King's
eternal throne is fully realized in Jesus Christ.
v.2: "From the end of the Earth..." God is accessible from anywhere. The word "faint/overwhelmed/发昏 עטף ataph" in "when my heart is faint", has in ancient Hebrew mindset: It felt like you were being completely submerged or swept away by waves of grief, panic, or enemies. This can also be seen as asking God to bring David above the rising flood in "lead me to the rock that is higher".
v.8: David’s mention of vows exposes a profound spiritual principle: He refused to treat God like a cosmic vending machine. This vow would be the Neder, the vow sacrifice - peace offerings or thank offerings. Done when a person is in distress not as a bribe to God, but as true worship of a gracious God. As Jesus made a vow to drink the cup the Father gave Him, becoming our eternal Priest.
