NYGC-LAB PC station #6, HP Compaq DC7900, having consistent autoreboot problem & HDD failed #10/DPS Self-Test Failed Completion Code: 4 error, in BIOS. Resetting CMOS battery didn't seem to help. Defaulting the BIOS didn't seem to help. But when I disable WAKE-ON LAN booting, HDD error is gone! Even though consistent autoreboot still persists.
After also Disabling NIC PXE Option ROM Download in the same BIOS page, the auto reboots problem are gone.
It may not be relevant, but I will also note that I have used non-built-in Ethernet card for this.
i had the same problem with a DC7900 and a DC7800 pc and i solved the problem by replacing the rtc battery (motherboard battery) with a new one!
