MERF: Sermon Today on Psalm 107 by Dan Ragusa

Ragusa: chapter has broken into East, West, North, South.

My reflection:

It sets out to show God's mercy. What sinners deserve needs to be focused, elaborated, for conviction of sins (v. 11, 17)

Such is the longing is God for his people. The good relationship, that is heaven. For there is no other heaven, but hell. Yet, we image a "hell" that we desire, that is filled with beautiful things from God which we take for granted. A hell nonetheless, for those blessings will be but only vain fantasy, since there is no desire for the good relationship, which is with God. All prayers will be in vain, if there is no such good relationship.

Therefore, give thanks, praise His name for his righteousness! Come close to him with no desire to step back at all, not on holidays, not on movie nights, nor any game night.
