Many of these (in the West) have remarkable Christian background. Meaning that their parents, usually mothers, are devote Christians who brought them to churches when they were young. But somehow they have turned from the faith. Believing evolution makes more sense than creation, if it is not due to their parents' blind faith. Note, I do not use the term creationism here.
They use "creatures" still. But that is a minor response.
To deal with them, I need to point to them their parents as their first target of contempt.
