John Lennon's Killer's Parole

Quite a few times he has applied for parole and got rejected. Mark David Chapman, who killed pop star John Lennon, testified how after receiving Jesus he was a changed man. Yoko Ono, wife of Lennon does not seem to have forgiven him. She had requested denial of the previous parole request.

I came across this from Janet's FB posting. She quoted:

"Chapman apologized for the pain he caused Lennon, his family and his millions of fans: 'I am sorry for being such an idiot and choosing the wrong way for glory. I found my peace in Jesus. I know him. He loves me. He has forgiven me.'”

It is all good for the direction Chapman is heading. However, I would be very concern about how Chapman would reconcile with Ono. It is a biblical thing after all. Do not come to the Lord unless you have reconciled with the other. It would taint Christian name should he be set free (on parole) without any communication with Yoko. Simply apologizing in a public setting does not help. Just as Mark Driscoll would really need to confront Mefferd and apologize to her. That is where the sincerity lies.

Personally, I think unless Chapman has personally reconciled with Yoko, he shouldn't think of getting a parole.
