Jellyfish tank

It's a good idea. But $350 is a steep price...eventhough one may just call it a pledge or donation. Can't blame him too much if it's handmade.

The free money in the mail deal does exist

I received a mail addressed to the right address but to a stranger's name.

It is one of those survey mails. From Arbitron ratings. "A Leader in TV and Radio Ratings".

In it attached 2 very new singles. That is $2.

A letter with a persuasion of getting $5 for filling out a further survey.

I've learned in America, that there are many unethical money making businessmen from big scale to the littlest nuisance. But this is the first, and of course the rare occasion, that I've 'accidentally' received free money of $2.

Perhaps I should complete the survey.

Long Lost puzzle found

I've finally found the puzzle called 'the Brain' at the AMNH.

It's said to be an inspiration from Herodotus' mythological Atlantis' mysterious computer. Leading to the Gray's binary system which results in this puzzle.

I first saw it in Arkansas. I believed I have once found it on the web a few years back but had forgotten what and where it is until my recent visit to the museum.

I can open or close it in about 30 seconds each.

Kodak Suicide

George Eastman (1854-1932), founder of Kodak company, committed suicide by shooting his heart.

I once heard a preacher commented how people saw the world hopelessly and became depressed enough to commit suicide, and using the example of the Kodak's former president.

However, I just came across the site where although the disease did caused George to be in a position that led to his depression, his suicide wasn't quite that of hopelessness...as his suicide note read:  My work is done. Why wait?

So what is it that justify the situation?

I see no justification. Because I believe there are more he could have done. God decides if our work is finished.

Night Terror

Other than sleep paralysis, there's another one I've encountered not by me, but someone I know. That is called Night Terror. It's when someone yelled in the dream without having a nightmare. Also could be related to sleep walking.

Journal Transfer - from a while back...on my paper notes

General:

Problems in Sunday School teaching are not about learning curve, but more of facing disbeliefs from students...and sometimes teachers.

Though today's men praise how evolved they are to be rid of eunuchs,  but I'd say one can find many Christian eunuchs in church services today...that their ability to excel in God's works is as if they were emasculated.

When Jesus rebuked - No uprising against rebuked authorities.

I dare say American Christianity today is a pagan religion because I am not to cover up, but to want to solve and heal the situation.

Memory Verse:

凡事都不可亏欠人,惟有彼此相爱要常以为亏欠;因为爱人的,就完全了律法。

Book Review: In Light of Eternity: The Life of Leonard Ravenhill by Mack Tomlinson

Today I received both packages from my P.O. Box.

1. The remaining last 5 books in Dr. Tong's old series...thus completing the 22-book series. Which was actually owed to me by the late Rev. David Chen. I bought these directly from Taiwan. I feel happy. Though, I wish I had the video version instead.

2. A thick 600-page book, an autobiography of Leonard Ravenhill.

I carried these to work. No time to make a round trip home. I read the book on Len.

Although I have never read any of Ravenhill's book, I was impressed by him already because of Paul Washer's recommendation I once saw on youtube.

I had also looked up a few of his quotes before, which I have included in my journal before.

As I read, on the subway train, some impressive lines caught my eyes, ie.:

"He feared the Lord so much and feared no man." Foreword by Al Whittinghill

"Hebrews 11 is a divine mandate to read Christian Biography." - John Piper, pg. 2

What caught my eyes most thus far...this really had me...

"Len's mother told him twenty years later that after the midwife left the room, she laid her hands on him and prayed, "Lord, make this boy a preacher or don't let him live." She then dressed and went to the weekly prayer meeting, taking baby Len with her. So Leonard attended his first prayer meeting when he was two hours old... pg. 4
