How to Define Co-Workers in the Lord

Act 15:38  But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work.

How do we determine our commitment with workers of equal level in the Lord? Between Elders, Pastors, friends or parents?

A co-operative partnership is always more desired. But why are there so many disputes, contensions, etc.? Even to the point of the embarrassment of churches.

When we hire or choose a co-worker, what are the criterias used to judge? Aside from the obvious such as Christian belief, sanity and non-troublesome.

What are the principles used? Do we judge by enthusiasm? or abiding the principle of "every member should do some church work", or education qualification, or talkativeness, or talents, or verbally mutual agreement, or loneliness, or compassion, or out of necessity, of experience, of reputation, of similar interests, of friendship, of family, etc?

When we pray, may God's will be done, do we do it out of jealousy? pride? or some mysterious humility?

When we have different ideas, do we simple start our own ministries without a clear conviction from God? It seems this is rather clouded in America, as the Christians would have a bountiful resources to start their own ministries. I see so many small churches established to a point I have to wonder, do they do it for pure Godly reason? As Paul puts it in Philippians 1:15.

Since the higher priority is the spreading of the Gospel, I cannot help but keep saying:" It is better to be used by God in His grace, than to be used by God outside of His grace". Can God use people? He certainly can, He is the creator, He has all the rights.

What then? How can we tell from another's heart if we could hardly examine our own with a righteous judgment?

In the end, the trust we are willing to commit, cannot be shy of the consideration or prevention of any of the above criterias in a thorough manner, but there must be more...for the sake of responsibility, and that which is remained, can never be short of one's own piety to God in a mature knowledge and grace of God.

Agreement Doesn't Mean Same Principle

When I say, we cannot simply hire pastors and fire pastors, many mature Christians would agree.

However, I bet to conclude that although we are in agreement, our principles maybe different.

Their princple is based on niceness, my principle is based on the anointment of God. Hence, when it comes to the point where I had the opportunity to say: "No matter how evil the pastor is, that doesn't mean that he should be fired", many of those who were in agreement earlier would have problem with this statement.

Vanity VS Hollywood

A person's love for Hollywood medias and gossips is proportional to his tendency towards vanity.

Malaysia Ban for Christians to use "Allah"

I'm glad that some Muslims begin to see the "threat" to their own religion/culture, just as the Jews once were with Christ.

This also shows how vain language can be. As 2nd Corinthians 3:6 perfectly puts it: "...not of letter, but of the spirit...".

Two Types of Preachers

One who truly prays that the seed is sowed on good ground, works diligently in all hardship and suffering selflessly to be a good vessel for God to acheive such goal.

The others, AGREE that seed falling on good ground is the better, but rejoice in both prayer and laziness when the seed fell upon rocks and among thorns.

Therefore, two may seem to head the same way, but nay.

Murphy's Law VS Free Will

Augustine once said "posse pecarre, posse non pecarre" (able to sin, able not to sin) to describe the condition of Adam's free will, before he sinned. Which of course, is not the same as our current free will. That scholarstic notion is to better our understanding of predestination, free will, justice and original sin as a family of human beings - Adamites.

Murphy's Law is non-existent if its application to Adam's original state is in question, because Adam's state is a matter of obedience. Murphy's Law, if ever to be considered a law, could only be so in the context of observations, and not more than Schrödinger's cat.

The Blinds are Those False Principles Holders

When Rev. David Chen accused Rev. Stephen Tong of bad temper when he rebuked; it was like the Pharisees accused Jesus of being proud and egoistic when he claimed to be God.

My Great Despise

In my hand, there is a sword. This sword kills King Saul's killer the Amalekite, Uzzah, Ananias and Sapphira, but it will spare Peter.

Who says those who contribute should not be rebuked?

My Vista Report: Outlook 2007 Issue: Only start in Safe Mode

Been running Vista Ultimate on this newly assembled PC of mine since a month or two ago. Very satisfied, never thought I could like Vista.

However, when I tried to install Creative Sound Blaster Live! CT4830 PCI card, using a downloaded driver (which took a while to find), I faced the BSOD (blue screen of death). So I figured it's because Vista just isn't friendly enough with this old card and I took it out. (I may have to plug it in again just to make sure the driver files are deleted from Device Manager because I didn't - since I was in a hurry to see the result) I supposed I would have to order a sound card from ebay, all these for the purpose of a built-in synthesizer which doesn't usually come with the Motherboard's built-in sound system, so I could stream the piano keyboard module faster.

After taking out the sound card, a couple of problems: 1. MS Outlook 2007 failed to complete loading after the standby logo and prompt for safemode loading which works but not as normal mode, 2. deletion of files froze at "Recycling status" or "Canceling status - if I cancel".

Solution:
I hope for a better solution (Perhaps if I spend the time to plug back the old sound card and remove the drivers). But this would do now:
Disable and stop Windows Search (requires Reboot to stop) in Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. All problem solved.

During the process I did use this step to see if the recycling problem can be solved, but wasn't sure if it was the solution in addition to the Windows Search. I ran ms command console as Administrator (right click on ms dos and "run as administrator), then typed in: rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin
Thanks to Windows Vista Forums.

Thinking Back: Proposition 8

It was clear that many mainline churches were against gay marriages even in America. I was surprised to some extend because judging from the way Ameristians have been handling God's gifts for them, they would always seek compromises with the amount of oppositions they have to face themselves.

True, the works and efforts put into the Proposition 8 were remarkably enthusiastic. But one cannot ignore the fact how it has to come to this. Were pastors not preaching according to God's will? Were churches not educating the general public about marriages? Or were they just doing just what they should in the guise of self-deceived selfishness?

One can certainly argue that if gay marriages were allowed in California, thus undermining the comfort zone, or so called "faith", of the Ameristians, and particularly their pastors, they would be more concerned with their own well-being than God's will. Having to deal with the necessity of conducting gay marriage ceremonies or face the consequences of their own constitutions which they upheld so highly using the excuse of Romans 13.

But perhaps it is not too late, as we have seen God's mercy has been laid upon here yet again, despite the number of pagan worshipers in His churches. Now then, we are more than responsible to pursue and educate with the public the matters of God in all seriousness.
