The Quality of Fellowships

The quality of a fellowship can be judged by the topic and content of discussions AFTER biblical study.

Terrarium

Perhaps one could only afford a terrarium, living in the largest city in the world.

After a tour at the Bronx Botanical Garden, I am thinking of emptying out a corner of my room for the purpose of starting a terrarium.

Of course, the eventual challenge is...beauty or fruits?

On Working for God

The problem is not looking at what was done, but what should have been accomplished.

The North American Christians have all the resources and luxury for them to build a God glorifying nation, yet, they are in emotional destitution and spiritual poverty. Often times, even worse than those whom they called "Third World Countries".

And when the surrounding nations illustrate their pride and greed in reprimand, they said "Blessed are we, for we are scorned and persecuted by these".

The honor of God is not at stake, but those who couldn't wait to say "Lord, Lord, haven't we preached in your name, helped the needy, healed the sick, built your churches..."

Near NYC Dark Sky Observation Site: Custer Institute

I have yet to experience it, but according to AAA, it has very dark sky. The Custer Observatory appears to be very public friendly.

Perhaps the Americans Should Listen to Mahathir

Love this quote from the former Malaysian PM's blog:

"11.
The people in the rich countries who are furiously trying to regain
their statistical wealth should not be in denial. You will never be
able to recover to your pre-crisis self no matter how many trillions
you spend on bailouts.

12. If you accept this fact than you may be able to end the slide to national bankruptcy."

On Mission Support

I believe I should really keep my ministry a secret, instead of sharing it. And let others see its own fruit, has God called. It would apear there are just too many nosy Uzzah around. By causing them to sin, I sin too.

When someone here says they wish to support my ministry or whatever it is like that again, (clearly they have lost sense of putting their offering to where it is called for. If they really can't see the purpose of offering and have money to spare...) then they should pay their national debt which is virtually impossible to fulfil, but after all it's the heart that counts.

Nevertheless, in time, it is more crucial for the subjects of my ministry to practise offering than those who couldn't tell donation and offering apart.

Turning Wireless Router into Access Point

Thank's to Coulterp, I managed to turn the Netgear WGR614 v9 wireless router into an Access Point for a client:

Configure the IP address of the secondary router (the WGR614) to be in
the same subnet as the primary router (the Belkin), but out of the
range
of the DHCP server in the primary router. For instance if the
DHCP server of the primary router issues addresses 192.168.0.2 -
192.168.0.100, then assign the secondary router 192.168.0.254 as it's
IP address.

Disable the DHCP server in the secondary router (WGR614).

Connect
from the primary router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports on the
secondary router. If there is no uplink port and neither of the routers
had auto-sensing ports, your would use a cross-over cable but that will
not be necessary here as the Netgear has auto-sensing ports, so a
normal straight-through CAT5 cable is fine. Leave the WAN port of the
secondary router (WGR614) unconnected!

Setup the wireless section on the WGR614 just the way you would if it was the primary router.

How People's Faces Change

I think one's perspective of how others' looks have changed after a long period is inversely proportional to how well one knows them.

My Rage

I have come to realize that I often am angered by those who love to quickly jump to the wrong conclusions.

If I could deal with this swiftly at the time of occurrence, then I would have either gained a friend like Peter or a jealous enemy like the Pharisees.
