Most Respected Occupation

The longer I live in the city, the more I respect the job of a sanitary engineer/scientist. I supposed I could say I see these as others would a doctor or a lawyer; and I see doctors and lawyers as others would a prostitute. In the end, whether it is the lowest level or the highest, we must each be content with what is given and give glory to God - When one returns glory to God, even the non-believers can see God, not just the one who gives.

Deliver Me in Thy Righteousness: Know Thy Place in God's Family

There are preachers, there are teachers, there are normal workers/servants, there are family makers, there are students, researchers, etc., all of which are unlike the ranking system of the world. However, there are authorities given to each and it is a sin to mistook these authorities as desire of power.

The second sin is to mix these positions unwisely in a person or be involve in anyway pertaining to this issue.

I have come to this entry after thinking on a recent event. Some people love to show how they support ministries or evangelists, but they lack the proper attitude towards God's works. For example, there are many who love to push others in a form of encouragement, then why is such enthusiasm lacking in applying to themselves? More over, for those who would do every conceivable self-creditable "support" but lifting their own finger, I wonder, what would happen to them when the persecution actually comes to them, judging from the way of their righteousness - (even as minor as having email signature concerning privacy/copyright, hyperparanoia concerning pictures being taken, etc.)

What then, but to pray and serve humbly in church. Leave the real decisions to proper offices. Everyone, is any office, should know the calling and gift given them and respond contently.

Of course, I have no interest in dealing with these chickens, however, if they are persistent to be in my way thinking that their enthusiasms worth something to me, I may eventually have to say "Get thee behind me, Satan!".

I fear sometimes that my servitude would offend some. But, carefully, if my righteousness exceeds the righeousness of these, I need not be afraid. So may God strengthen me. Soli Deo Gloria. Deliver me in Thy Righteousness!

Thanks be to God

I thank God for His mercy and all that's happened to me these past couple of years, concerning His parish. I thank Him for His reprimand upon me, I thank Him for His patience.

All these have taught me to be more cautious and patient simultaneously without the cost of worldly compromises.

On Criticizing Pastors

I always hold to the principle of fully respecting pastors as annointed men of God.

But I cannot support pastors who do not consider themselves pastors. And this is not pertaining to mere irresponsibility in certain area. The worst kinds I have seen are those who have actually left the church.

On Bipolar

I think the irresponsible and unbelieving doctors and counsellors love to use the excuse of the technical term "bipolar".

Mercury's Greatest Elongation

Although Mercury's greatest Western elongation is still 3 more days to go, I cannot risk the weather. So I should be at Bensonhurst today by 7pm with my binoculars.

Lacking the Zest for the Great Commission

The first, was while I was having lunch after Sunday Service, some disgruntled non-Christian trying to lay all his issues on me, I was beginning to have the zest of guiding him to the right path when the other church members come and interrupt, whether it is to "protect" me or talk garbage, I don't know. I supposed there's one useful advice I remember from my father, if I have not mistaken, that is "Don't talk while eating". Strike One.

Then there was this ticket I give as a "tiny part" of my mission work, so that the church gets a chance to have their members listen to some great performance that was initially made for God's glory - Of course, Bach's B Minor Mass is no match for Handel's Messiah pertaining to the Gospel in this English speaking culture, hence, tiny part. But it would appear from the pastor's insistence of paying me back, it almost seems that she thinks I'm too poor to do such ministry or that she did not realize this is not just some invitation to watch me sing on stage. Strike Two.

Anyone who does not the zest of evangelization, has no part in my ministry regardless of how good a talker they are. It is better that they do their own ministry and let me support theirs for the sake of the Gospel.
